The feeling being that even with the addition of Roberts and Alito, we are still one vote short of a pro-life majority. There is some concern that if the new SD law is struck down by the court, it will actually damage the pro-life movement because it could rollback all of the efforts that have been made in South Dakota and harm pro-life efforts in other states.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3905914.post-1140716011630361312006-02-23T12:33:00.000-05:002006-02-23T12:33:00.000-05:00Interesting. I see Alito as a solid replacement for Rehnquist with Roberts being a net gain over O'Connor (I know I'm speaking vice versa of whom they actually replaced.)Alanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09795945247297789757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3905914.post-1140715618447706572006-02-23T12:26:00.000-05:002006-02-23T12:26:00.000-05:00While Alito is still on my suspicious list, I beli...While Alito is still on my suspicious list, I believe Roberts would join with Scalia and Thomas to overturn Roe. However, even with Alito on board, Kennedy would probably keep Roe. I believe he will though overturn Carhart, which upheld the barbarous partial-birth abortion.

My view is that we can't get any worse than it is now, so even a small victory will be welcomed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
