Mordant commentary on Christianity & culture by Alan Cornett
You sound like Scott McConnell admitting to consuming "cultural junk food" in watching the Anna Nicole dramedy. Just don't appear on the Nancy Grace show.
In my defense, I had zero interest in the Anna Nicole affair other than a mild (and perhaps mean spirited) hope that the father of the child would be Frederic von Anhalt for the sheer obscurity of it. As for the Winkler trial, when a 30-something evangelist at a Southern church of Christ is gunned down my antennae tend to perk up.
That's fair enough. Besides, I think McConnell was right when he unapologetically admitted to eating cultural junk food. While I most of viewing "Anna viewing" was with amazement at the embarassing performances by the judge and attorneys (yet again), I'd be a phony if I claimed I was aloof from it. The Winkler trial is shaping up into another "abuse excuse" (as Alan Dershowitz calls it) trial.
